grey days and knitting

This scarf was made for me by Carmel (fiancee's dad's wife).... It inspired me to knit!

I went straight to the yarn store and got yarn for a scarf for my mom.
It was raining and grey yesterday. I spent the day knitting, watching movies, eating chocolate, and drinking coffee. The scarf is done.

december 7

My friend Amara came from Los Angeles to visit me in Brooklyn for my 23rd birthday. Rather than carry a cumbersome map, she made a map of the city into bookmarks with tiny dots making important places. The map below includes a dot marking my apartment. She left this behind and I have posted it on a door in every house I have lived in since.

I bought this yellow fabric to make a pillow cover. I never did, but I have cut it into napkins for our wedding. I scanned the fabric and printed it on paper. The pictures of grass and the dog are from National Geographic from the 1970s.
